Indicators

To improve the understanding of coastal and marine processes and build community support for ICZM, monitoring of relevant, reliable and comprehensive indicators (meaningful datasets) can help to understand sustainable processes in the coastal zone. Sustainability indicators help to describe whether we are moving away from or towards a more sustainable coast.

The ecological, economical and social indicators detect the trends on the coast and act as “guides” for making sustainable choices.

Within the C-SCOPE project the indicators will be integrated in the new Coastal Explorer Planning tool, in order to further support good decision making.
